If you ever need to know what it is that cheers me up no end (to the point that I act like an 8 year old again) you should have seen me this morning!!!
Snow, loads of the stuff, everywhere!
Apart from the small issue of the car being buried, which meant we had to give it legs to the train station, I was happy, happy, happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a little perplexing to get to the station and pick up a copy of the Metro (not just because it was the Metro)
The headline was "-5 and we're going nowhere." Are we not???
I've just practically skiied to the train station (it was fun although me feet are now sopping wet and a little chilly) there are lots of other folk here AND the train's on time (which on my line simply doesn't happen.) I live in an outpost of Manchester and my train has to come from Yorkshire. I live in a pretty low lying area and had a good few inches, so not sure what the high ground must have been like, but the train made it and I'm actually early for work today.
But according to the Metro the country has ground to a halt.
And I have spotted an entry from a fellow blogger, who's had to give up their quest to get to work (from Brightonish) because the transport companies there have given up on transporting people!
What get's me in all this are the newspapers. They have a lot to teach us in getting about.
It doesn't matter have apocalyptic the weather gets, there's always a copy of the Metro waiting for you once you've battled your way there. How DO they do that??????
