The story as I read it looked a bit of a horror tale, but I took a great deal of comfort from it. Comfort in that it's been spotted and will be rectified.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) - formerly the Healthcare Commission - have gone out and inspected the vehicles, in the same way that the Environmental Health Protection Officer will visit your favourite kebab shop.
Did all pass muster? Nope, they appear to have fallen flat on their arse for cleanliness.
But, it did show the need for an independent inspection process and the apparant success (in the bringing forward of deep cleans) of the CQC in highlighting problem areas and dealing with them.
So, I wonder who announced this resounding success to the press to justify their existance?
Sound cynical? You bet, but if you are wondering why and what happened to the Healthcare Commission, just ask Anna Walker.
